"Telemedicine in psychiatry, using video conferencing, is a validated and effective practice of medicine that increases access to care. The American Psychiatric Association supports the use of telemedicine as a legitimate component of a mental health delivery system to the extent that its use is in the best interest of the patient and is in compliance with the APA policies on medical ethics and confidentiality."

IMPORTANT: Under the 1135 waiver authority and the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is removing the Medicare "originating site" requirements and geographic restrictions to allow Medicare beneficiaries everywhere to receive telehealth services from their place of residence during the coronavirus public health emergency. Research continues to show telepsychiatry delivers extremely high levels of patient and staff acceptability. Especially among the senior and elderly population. In addition, T-Psych can help you reduce staff burnout, maintain population stability, and maximize outcomes.
Unique to T-Psych is the Board Certified Psychiatrist assigned specifically to your facility. Rather than a "take a number" doctor, your patients and residents get a doctor upon whom they can build that critical therapeutic relationship, and your facility gets access to comprehensive mental and behavioral healthcare that can help you effectively address issues of access, availability, and even compliance and utilization review.
CARE PLANS AND PRICING TO FIT YOUR FACILITY'S NEEDS
Your t-psych, ltd board certified psychiatrist works with you to establish a weekly, monthly or bi-monthly "visitation" schedule. Your residents and patients are seen on a pre-arranged day, date and time, so you and your staff - and most of all, your residents and patients - know what to expect, and can prepare effectively for your visits.
You can add our on-call service to access a stable of Board Certified Psychiatrists on an as-needed or emergency basis. It's been shown that timely "virtual" visits can greatly reduce hospitalizations, but should a resident or patient need to go 911, our doctors are credentialed with the finest hospitals in Northern Illinois and can facilitate inpatient admissions in the states in which we are licensed. [UPDATE: See CMS Covid-19 Policy]
Should you need it, T-Psych can provide Medial Director leadership as well.
THE DOCTOR IS ALWAYS IN
ACCESS. AVAILABILITY. PEACE OF MIND.
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
Scheduled routine medication management including consultation with nurse, social worker and/or counselor for changes in cognition, behavior and mood, on-going assessment for GDR, and assessment of suicidal/homicidal risk, among other parameters. Usually on a monthly basis, or as needed.
"T-Psych was easy for my staff to et up and learn. They like it and report their patients do too. T-psych has given us much more control over scheduling on-going medication management visits than we had with our previous psychiatrist."

"Billing for T-Psych's services is not an issue. They see my residents just as our psychiatrists did before - only virtually - and bill as if it were a regular in-person visit."

"Patient and staff acceptance was almost immediate. Dr. Bawden was already seeing our patients and when he offered the virtual visits, we jumped on the chance to try it out. It's working out very well."
